I have seen this on several people's blogs and I think it's a fun idea! So here's the dealio: I will be giving a special gift to 3 lucky people.... The first 3 people to comment on this post will receive something awesomely handmade by me. I will make it special with you in mind BUT you also have to do the same thing on your blog/website/whatever. In order to be one of the 3 lucky people you have to offer this on your blog first. Yes, in order to win you will have to make things for other people. I will be checking so you can't trick me! Don't be afraid.... you won't win if you don't participate! **Edit** Okay, really people? Only one person wants to win this awesomely easy contest? I'm disappointed. I guess only Hannah and her crew will be outfitted with my cool creations. Bummer for everyone else. ~Amanda

This is the most recent hat that I've made. Hannah was trusting enough to be my guinea pig and I think it turned out pretty well. You can get the free pattern here. And this is what I think I'll make next. Click here for the free pattern. I think Chase will love it.

This past weekend we went to a Harlem globetrotters basketball game. Grandpa Jim was so nice to get us awesome tickets and we all had lots of fun. Chase loved watching the players do their tricks.
But almost even more exciting (for me, not the boys) was that we got to see a celebrity! Well, he's sort of a celebrity, but only if you live in Portland. Please excuse the not-cute picture of me and focus on the man with the striped blue blazer. That's him! His name is Carpet Carl. He owns some carpet warehouse and his commercials are always on local tv, so if you live in the area you might know who I'm talking about. Anyway, he walked down to his seats with some other people and I instantly knew his face. I wanted to ask him the whole time just to make sure who he was, but I didn't want to be lame. And then later someone yelled out "Carpet Carl! How's it going?" I knew I was right!!!!
Anyway, we had a great night and it was lots of fun and I'm sure Chase loved staying up waaaay past his bedtime. Thanks grandpa Jim!!!

Hopefully this will be us! Jonathan and I have signed up for the Portland Marathon. That's right, we're taking on the 26.2 mile feat together. Romantic, eh? We've been getting Chase bundled up in his stroller in the mornings and have been hitting the open road. It's been cold and sometimes miserable, but we're having fun. And come October we better be in awesome shape. Otherwise we'll be crawling across the finish line. Wish us luck!!!
